4. Safety instructions

4.1 General

The guarantee/warranty will be void if damage is incurred resulting from non-
compliance with these operating instructions. We assume no liability for any
consequential damage!
Nor do we assume liability for damage to property or personal injury caused by
improper use or failure to observe the safety instructions. In such cases the
warranty is voided!
• If you are not sure when assembling, connecting and installing the device or if you have doubts as
to the mode of operation of the device, do not assemble/connect/install the device yourself, but
rather contact a specialist.
• The unauthorized conversion and/or modification of the product is inadmissible for safety and
approval reasons (CE).
• Ensure sufficient ventilation and never place or fix the GSM switching module on highly inflammable
surfaces (e.g. wood wall panelling).
• Electrical devices must be kept out of the reach of children. Be especially careful when children are
present. They might try to stick objects into the openings of the casing. This product is not a toy!
• The GSM switching module is delivered with a weatherproof casing. The casing is rated IP66. As
long as the provided cable glands are used, IP54 is ensured. For outdoor use, the GSM switching
module has to be properly installed in the provided casing.
• Install the GSM switching module where it cannot be reached by children.
• Never switch on the device immediately after it has been taken from a cold to a warm environment.
The condensation produced may, under certain conditions, lead to malfunctions or damage. In
addition, there is the risk of an electric shock. Allow the device to reach room temperature before
operating it. This may take several hours!
• If you have reason to believe that the device can no longer be operated safely, disconnect it
immediately and make sure it is not unintentionally operated. Reasons to assume that safe
operation is no longer possible are the following:
- the device shows visible damage
- the device no longer functions
- the device has been stored under unfavourable conditions or
- after it has been exposed to heavy stress during transport.
• Do not leave the packaging material lying around carelessly as it can become a dangerous toy for
children.
• Maintenance, adjustments and repair work may only be carried out by a specialist/specialised
workshop.
