2. Intended use

This GSM switching module is designed to remotely switch devices on or off via the GSM network. In
addition, the status of all inputs and outputs can be queried remotely by using SMS commands.
The product is equipped with two optocoupler inputs (terminals "IN1" (6) and "IN2" (5)) and two
potential-free relay outputs (outputs "INCALL" (7) and "SMS1" (8)).
The GSM switching module is configured via SMS.
The power supply is between 4.8 and 6 V/DC. Optionally, the GSM switching module can be used with
a backup battery (3.7 V, Li/Po or Li/Ion). The battery is not included in delivery.
The GSM switching module transmits and receives on 850, 900, 1800, and 1900 MHz (GSM QUAD
BAND).
The GSM switching module is delivered with a weatherproof casing. The casing is rated IP66. As long
as the provided cable glands are used, IP54 is ensured. For outdoor use, the GSM switching module
has to be properly installed in the provided casing.
Any use other than the intended use described above is not permitted and may harm the product and
result in short circuits, fire, etc. No part of the product may be modified or rebuilt. The safety information
in these operating instructions has to be observed at all times. Please read the operating instructions
carefully and keep them for future reference.

3. Explanation of symbols

The symbol showing a lightening in a triangle is used when your health is at risk, e.g.
through an electric shock.
The exclamation mark in a triangle indicates a particular risk in handling, operating or
controlling the product.
The hand symbol indicates special tips and operating information.
