MonoControl CS gas pressure regulation system with over‑
pressure safety device S2SR (OSD) is a two‑stage regulator. If
one of the two regulator stages fails, e.g. due to dirt or other
foreign matter on the valve, the other regulator stage reduces
the pressure to a maximum of 150 mbar.
Using the MonoControl CS in closed rooms (e.g. at home), on
boats or in EX Zone 0 (e.g. tankers) is prohibited.
The national regulations must be observed if there is a possi‑
bility of it being used in mobile homes. In Germany, its use in
mobile homes is prohibited.
Safety instructions
– The use of upright gas cylinders from which gas is ex-
tracted in the gas phase is mandatory when operating
the MonoControl CS gas pressure regulation system. Gas
cylinders from which gas is taken in the liquid phase (e.g.
for fork lifts) must not be used, since they would result in
damage to the gas system.
– A high‑pressure hose with hose rupture protection (HRP) is
essential for connecting the gas cylinder to the gas pressure
regulation system. Truma provides the necessary high‑press‑
ure hoses with the most commonly‑used connection vari‑
ants for European gas cylinders (see Page 66).
– Pressure regulation devices and hoses must be replaced
with new ones no more than 10 years after their date of
manufacture (every 8 years if used commercially). The oper‑
ator is responsible for this.

Operating the gas system while driving
– The device manufacturer's instructions must be followed
before operating a liquid gas device while driving.
– In the case of motor homes built from 01/2007, a safety
shut‑off device must be provided in accordance with the
heating appliance directives 2001/56/EC, 2004/78/EC and
2006/119/EC or UN ECE R122 for operating a liquid gas
heater while driving. When a pipe is fractured in an acci‑
dent, this prevents gas from being able to escape.
In the case of caravans, since 08/2012 and in accordance
with UN ECE R122 Appendix 8 (Amendment 3) it has been
necessary to provide a safety shut‑off device for operating a
liquid gas heater while driving.
In combination with a high‑pressure gas hose with integrated
hose rupture protection (HRP), the Truma MonoControl CS
gas pressure regulation system complies with all of the
relevant standards, regulations and directives and therefore
allows the gas system to be used throughout Europe while
driving.
– For vehicles manufactured before 01/2007 there are no re‑
strictions for operating the gas system while driving **.
** Except for France:
In France, operation of a gas system while driving is only
permitted in type‑tested vehicles with first registration as
of 01.01.2007. In older vehicles the operation of the gas
system while driving is also non‑permissible in combination
with a safety shut‑off device.
– Gas cylinders that are not connected to the gas installation
must be closed at all times and provided with protection
caps. Connected gas cylinders are considered to be oper‑
ating materials and not hazardous materials (ADR exemp‑
tion in accordance with sections 1.1.3.1 and 1.1.3.2 e).
