Cooking with the RÖSLE grill

Preparing the grill

Only gas cylinders with a maximum gross weight of 5 kg may be placed on the cylinder stand provided – see
assembly instructions. The maximum length of the gas hose must not exceed 1.5 metres.
• Open the lid before lighting the burners.
• Check that the air vents are clear of dirt.

Cleaning the fat-catcher tray

The drip-tray and the fat-catcher tray should be cleaned re-
gularly.
If they are not, accumulated fat and oil could cause a fi re in
the grill.
• If the grill is used a lot, more frequent cleaning may be
required.
• Insert the catcher tray and fasten it in place.
• Do not start cooking the food until the grill is suffi ci-
ently preheated. –This process takes about 15 minutes
on the highest setting.
You will obtain the best results if the food is not
completely cold (i.e. not taken directly from the re-
frigerator) when placed on the barbecue. Remove
it from the refrigerator a little while beforehand (about 1 hour) so that it is at room temperature
for cooking.

Barbecueing methods

Preheating
Light the burners as described above, turn the gas
valve controls to "MAX" and preheat the gas grill for
15 minutes.
Protecting the cooking surface
It is advisable to apply a thin coat of fat to the coo-
king surface before using the grill on each occasion.
You can apply a little cooking oil to the cooking sur-
face with a long-handled brush. In that way you can
help prevent food sticking to the surface.
Leaping fl ames
When you cook meat over an open fi re, you have to
expect the fl ames shoot up. That is caused by the na-
tural meat juices dripping onto the fl ame diffuser.
The leaping fl ames and the resulting smoke are what
give the meat the distinctive barbecue fl avour.
Barbecueing very fatty meat or at very high tempera-
tures can also cause the fl ames to shoot up. You have
to keep the shooting fl ames under control as otherwise the food will burn.
Preventing leaping fl ames
• Remove excess fat from meat and poultry before placing it on the grill.
• It is advisable to prepare very fatty meat on a grill plate.
• Barbecue on a lower heat.
