CHECKING THE PARTS SUBJECT TO WEAR
Duration and performance vary with wear and corrosion, depending on the different conditions of use.
If the electric pump is inspected to check for wear in the hydraulic part, comply with the following instructions and consult the typical section for the
references in brackets.
Thoroughly clean with a jet of pressurized water if the hydraulic part is partially or totally clogged with the solids in the conveyed fluid. Use a
pressurized jet to clean the gap between the impeller and oil chamber shield. This area can only be completely cleaned after the impeller has been
removed.
1. - Support the motor unit and connection support by the relative fixing points, then unscrew the rear bracket (the one on the motor side) in
horizontal installations.
2. - Unscrew the screws that fasten the pump casing to the oil housing, lift the motor and impeller assembly and then set it in a horizontal position.
3. - If the electric pump has a channel impeller/s, check the play between the wear ring (Pos. L4) and the collar of the impeller itself (Pos. L2). If
the play exceeds 3 mm (difference between the internal diameter of the ring and the diameter of the impeller shim), replace the ring and/or the
impeller or restore the diameter of the impeller shim by applying a steel ring at least 3 mm thick, machined so as to obtain a play of at least 0.5
mm (see fig. 1).
4. - If there is excessive wear on the impeller or pump casing, contact your nearest CAPRARI assistance center and ask for genuine spare parts.
Use a wrench for countersunk cheese-headed screws to disassemble the impeller.
5. - Before re-assembling and adjusting the individual parts, the rubber parts and nuts and bolts must be thoroughly cleaned.
6. - Check to make sure that all the rubber parts are in a good condition. Replace all the ones that were damaged during the disassembly
operations or that have deteriorated with use.
7. - Check that there is no water in the oil. If water is discovered, replace the seal on the pump side.
8. - To re-assemble, work through the disassembly instructions in reverse order, remembering to fit all the rubber seals in the correct positions,
consulting the section and setting the various parts in their original positions.
9. - Apply a few drops of LOCTITE 242 on the screw thread before tightening the impeller's locking screw (Pos. L13), then tighten the M8 screw
with a 25 Nm (2.5 kgm) driving torque, the M10 screw with a 50 Nm (5 kgm) driving torque and the M14 screw with a 135 Nm (13.5 kgm)
driving torque.

DISPOSAL OF THE ELECTRIC PUMP WHEN NO LONGER USABLE
When the electric pump is worn or damaged and is uneconomical to repair, it can no longer used and must be destroyed in compliance with the
local rules and regulations.

SPARE PARTS
Give the following information when ordering spare parts from Caprari S.p.A. or one of its Authorized Assistance Centers:
1 – complete code of the electric pump
2 - date code or serial number
3 – denomination and reference number of the part (l...) as indicated in the section on page 68.
4 – number of parts required.

WARRANTY
To obtain assistance under guarantee, it is essential to have complied with the operating instructions and the best hydraulic and electrotechnical
regulations as this is of fundamental importance if the electric pump is to provide a regular performance.
Faults caused by wear and/or corrosion are not covered by the warranty.
For the warranty to be recognized it is also necessary to have the electric pump examined beforehand by our technicians or by technicians from one
of the authorized Caprari S.p.A. assistance centers.
