their effects on the central nervous system. This method is scientifically
proven and medically approved. Any pathology that makes a treatment
with TENS appropriate must be clarified by your physician. Your physician
will also give you further information on the specific benefits of a TENS self
administered treatment.
TENS is clinically proven and approved for the following applications:
Back pain, especially lumbar and cervical spine conditions
Joint pain (e.g., knee joint, hip joint, shoulder)
Neuralgia
Menstrual pain of women
Pain after injuries to the motor system
Pain from circulatory disorders
Chronic pain conditions of different causes.
Electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) is a widespread and universally
acknowledged method that has been used for years in the field of sports
and rehabilitative medicine. In sports and fitness training, EMS is commonly
used complementary to conventional muscle training in order to improve
performance of muscle groups and to shape body proportions according to
esthetic preferences. EMS applications can be divided into two categories.
On the one hand, it can systematically strengthen muscles (activating
applications), and on the other hand, it can be used for achieving a relaxing,
recuperating effect (relaxing applications).
Activating applications:
Muscle training for increasing endurance capacity, and/or muscle
training for supporting the strengthening of certain muscles or muscle
groups in order to achieve desirable changes in body shape.
Relaxing applications:
Muscle relaxation for relieving muscular tension.
Rectification of muscular fatigue.
Enhanced muscle recovery after high muscular demands (e.g., after
running a marathon).
