EMS/TENS/FITNESS - what is it and what can it do?
The EMS/TENS/FITNESS belongs to the group of electronic stimulation
devices. lt features three basic functions that can all be used in combination:
1. Electrical stimulation of neural paths (TENS)
2. Electrical stimulation of muscle tissue (EMS)
3. Massage effect induced by electrical signals.
The device features two individual stimulation channels and four self
adhesive electrodes. lt offers versatile functions for improving overall
well-being, reducing pain, maintaining physical fitness, relaxing, muscle
recovery, and reducing fatigue. You can either select one of the pre-set
programs or adjust them according to your needs. The operating principle
of electronic stimulation devices is based on simulating intrinsic body
stimuli that are transmitted to nerves or muscle tissue via electrodes on the
skin. The electrodes can be attached to many different body parts, and the
electrical stimuli do not cause any harm or pain. Du ring certain applications
you might feel some gentle tingling sensation or vibration. The electrical
stimuli transmitted to the tissue affect neurotransmission within neural
paths, neural knots and muscle groups within the area of application.
The effect of electronic stimulation can be feit usually only after regular,
repeated use. Electronic stimulation on the muscle is not a replacement for
regular fitness training but complements its effects reasonably.
The term TENS, or transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, refers to
electrical stimulation of nerves through the skin. TENS has been approved
to be a clinically proven, effective, nonpharmacological, self-administered
method for treating pain of certain causes, that, if used correctly, is free from
any side effects. The pain-reducing or pain-suppressing effect is achieved,
for example, by suppressing the transmission of pain in nerve fibers
(especially through high-frequency pulsed currents) and by increasing the
release of intrinsic endorphins that lower the perception of pain through
