Fault
The pump does not pump properly
Pressure too low
Pump switches off
Pump starts repeatedly and
switches off again
Pump leaky
3-way valve no longer works
Fault indication sensor error on
control panel
System pumps tap water even
though rainwater storage tank is
full
Replenishment valve in the replen-
ishment reservoir does not close /
water leaks through the overflow
Display dark and device does not
work
10.1
Error code on control device
Incident
System over pressure
Installation and operating instructions • Wilo-RAIN3 • Ed.05/2024-02
Cause
Pump blocked, motor hums
Fault indication on control device
Start-up pressure is set too low
Negative suction head too high
Negative suction head too high
Suction filter/strainer/foot valve clogged
Motor circuit breaker tripped
Small leakage or stop valve defective
Very low draw-off quantity or small leakage
Mechanical seal is defective
Blockage due to sediment on the valve seat
Motor no longer fits correctly on the valve
Level sensor sends incorrect signal to the control
device because the cable is damaged or the level
sensor is blocked in the rainwater storage tank.
Control panel in manual mode
Despite the fact the rainwater storage tank is
filled, the level sensor has not switched pumping
mode. Cable damaged or level sensor blocked in
the rainwater storage tank
System automatically replaces the water in the re-
plenishment reservoir (see chapter 7.1)
Replenishment valve defective or mechanically
blocked
Fuse protection triggered internally (depending on
model) or externally
Error code
Cause
E060
Threshold value 5.24
reached (system pressure
has exceeded the permiss-
ible rated pressure)
Remedy
Disconnect the power supply (disconnect the
mains plug from the power supply), check the
shaft rotates easily in a de-energised state.
Contact customer service.
Troubleshooting.
Read the error message and rectify the cause of
the error.
Correct the start-up pressure.
Check the water level in the rainwater storage
tank or replenishment reservoir.
Check water level.
Clean the foot valve filter or strainer in the rain-
water storage tank.
Allow to cool down and restart.
Close the drainage pipe before starting
troubleshooting.
Check the sealing points and seal if necessary.
Check shut-off devices and replace if necessary.
Retrofit a diaphragm expansion tank behind the
pump (provided by the consumer)
Replace pump.
Carry out a visual inspection of the valve. Dis-
mantle and clean the valve, if necessary.
Check fit and correct if necessary.
Check contacts or carry out visual inspection.
Set the operating mode correctly on the control
panel.
Check contacts or carry out visual inspection.
Functioning according to programme, no meas-
ures required (see chapter 6.2).
Carry out a visual inspection. If necessary, remove
the replenishment reservoir and check and adjust
the replenishment valve.
Pump with too high start current due to blockage,
check possible cause.
Self-acknow-
Next steps
ledging
The system continues to work; the error is
displayed. The cause (pressure increase
due to heating or impermissible inlet pres-
sure) must be found, the system pressure
must have dropped below the value for the
switch-off pressure ("1.05") and acknow-
ledged.
