Application/use
4.1
Intended use
Installation and operating instructions • Wilo-RAIN3 • Ed.05/2024-02
•
Coarse suction filter (type G = without non-return valve, type GR = with non-return
valve)
Extraction close to the basin floor:
•
Foot valve with integrated non-return valve (alternative to floating extraction)
•
Additional pump in the rainwater storage tank (e.g. TM32/8).
Required if:
–
pressure losses on the suction side of the system are too high,
–
suction line is not laid in a continuously ascending manner from the rainwater storage
tank to RAIN3,
–
suction line is longer than 20 m (also requires extension of the cable for the fill level
sensor).
•
Special terminal box (pressure compensation box) IP65 with pressure compensation for
indirect connection of the cable for the fill level sensor
•
Diaphragm expansion tank
Required if:
–
low flow over a longer time period,
–
static pressure changes due to temperature fluctuations,
–
frequent start and stop cycles.

•
Clamp bolting for plastic pipe
•
Connection set for rainwater utilisation systems for flexible, decoupled connection
•
Ball valve with lever handle for easy and safe installation
The Wilo-RAIN3 rainwater utilisation system pumps rainwater from a rainwater storage
tank (e.g. ground reservoir) to the points of consumption. In the event of a low water level,
the system switches to a replenishment reservoir that is connected to the tap water supply.
The system complies with the EN 1717 standard.
The main applications are:
•
WC (toilet flushing)
•
Washing machines
•
Garden watering/irrigation
•
Sports ground irrigation
Check applications comply with local regulations.

DANGER
Health hazard due to contaminated water!
Industrial water is not drinking water. The water that flows through the
device is considered as non-drinkable, regardless of its origin.
• Attach "Not drinking water" sticker to the device so that it is clearly
visible.
• A direct connection between the tap water supply and the rainwater
extraction is not permitted.
