JUMP STARTING
Both booster battery and discharged battery should
be treated carefully when using jumper cables.
Follow these steps exactly, take care not to cause
sparks.
1.
Set the parking brake and turn off any
electrical loads.
2.
Attach one end of one jumper cable to the
positive terminal of the booster battery and
the other end to the positive terminal of the
discharged battery. DO NOT permit units to
touch each other.
3.
Attach one end of remaining cable to the
negative terminal of the booster battery and
the other end to a good ground on the unit or
engine, away from the discharged battery.
DO NOT lean over the battery when making
this connection.
4.
Reverse this sequence exactly when
removing the jumper cables.
NOTE: Booster batteries used for starting must
be connected with proper polarity.

WARNING
DO NOT allow flames or sparks near the
battery when connecting for jump starting
or charging.
Hydrogen gas is produced during the
charging process and can be explosive.
Provide adequate ventilation to prevent
possible explosion.
