Close all upstream and downstream valves. Empty the liquid from the pump using the special caps after
isolating the energies. Remove any liquid spills on the ground before operating in order to avoid the risk
of slipping and falling. No smoking near the pump if it contains flammable materials. Follow all the safety
regulations listed in the previous paragraphs and those pertaining to the country in which you operate.
The surfaces of the pump and motor can reach high temperatures. Wait for them to cool down before
intervening. Use the appropriate individual protections before proceeding with maintenance.
DO NOT MAKE MODIFICATIONS TO THE PRODUCT WITHOUT ASKING FOR AUTHORIZATION FROM THE
MANUFACTURER. PENALTY THE FORFEITURE OF THE MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY AND LIABILITY FOR
SAFETY PURPOSES.
If the liquid treated by the pump is harmful to health, it is essential to observe the following warnings:
The pumps do not require special maintenance. If there is a danger of freezing, in case of prolonged shutdown of the pump it is
recommended to empty the pump using the appropriate drain plug located in the lower part of the body (See Fig. 5 - Part. 2)
OPERATIONS TO BE PERFORMED ABOUT EVERY 500/1000 HOURS OF OPERATION AND NOT LESS THAN ONCE A YEAR
To verify:
-
the condition and temperature of the bearings;
-
the level of vibrations at the bearing supports;
-
that there are no leaks from the mechanical seal and other seals such as oil seals, O-rings, etc.
-
the alignment of the group; pump performance (flow rate / head);
-
motor data (absorbed current, voltage value and unbalance, insulation, vibrations, etc.): refer to the motor
manual;
-
the state and correct tightening of all electrical connections (terminal block, earthing, panel etc ...);
OPERATIONS TO BE PERFORMED ABOUT EVERY 1500/2000 HOURS OF OPERATION AND NOT LESS THAN ONCE A YEAR
To verify:
• The condition of the wear discs when present;
• The condition of the shaft;
• The condition of the impeller.
If necessary, replace the parts listed above.
CHECKS OF THE MECHANICAL SEAL
The mechanical seal does not require adjustments and / or maintenance. A loss of liquid is possible during the first instants of
operation due to settling of the seal itself. If the leak continues, stop the group and investigate the cause.
BEARING LUBRICATION
The bearings of bare shaft pumps (present in the support) can be of the type:
1 - shielded, therefore pre-lubricated that do not require particular maintenance.
2 - open, which instead require to be kept lubricated with a special lithium grease based on mineral-based oil such as LITKEN EP2
(COGELSA) or equivalent.
IMPORTANT: The pump is supplied with open bearings already greased and therefore requires no maintenance for the first 500
hours. The lubrication operation is carried out through the grease nipple placed in the upper part of the support. It is important
not to exceed the quantity of grease, which can cause overheating with consequent damage to the bearings.
Perform the lubrication operation using a manual grease gun so as not to damage the sealing rings in the support.
Below are INDICATIVE data on the replacement of bearings. Bearing life varies according to working conditions.
Rotation speed (1/min)
1500

For maintenance of the electric motor bearings, refer to the motor manual.
