ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
The connection to the mains must be performed only by a trained operator, format and authorized in
compliance with local and national regulations.
The wiring diagrams supplied with the motor must also be followed (see Fig. 13) and, if necessary, with
the control panel. The connection to the electrical network must be carried out using electrical cables
suitable for the motor current (see plate data).
MAKE THE GROUND AND EQUIPOTENTIAL CONNECTION BEFORE ALL THE OTHER CONNECTIONS.
Remove dirt or paint residues from the earth connection terminal. Perform a functional check of the
control equipment (electrical panel etc ...)
For further information refer to the manual of the electric motor
CHECKS ON THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Check the compliance of the electrical system with the IEC 60204-1 standards and local regulations in
force. Check in particular:
The following must also be present:
For other information, refer to the engine manual.
6 – SETTING AT WORK, OPERATION
FILLING AND PRIMING THE PUMP
Priming above the head (level of the liquid in suction lower than the pump)
1. Close the shut-off valve on the discharge
2. If present, open the shut-off valve on the intake
3. Open the filling cap on the pump (See Fig.5 - Part.1) and, if present, the vent caps on the pipes
4. Fill the pump and the suction pipe (in the case of SELF-PRIMING pumps it is sufficient to fill only the pump body)
5. Make sure that all the air has escaped from the pump and the suction pipe.
6. After filling, completely close the cap and any breather caps.
Priming under head (liquid level in suction higher than the pump)
1. Close the shut-off valve on the discharge
2. Open the vent and / or filler caps (See Fig.5 - Part.1)
3. Open the suction shut-off valve
4. Wait for the water to come out of the vent plugs
5. Once the water comes out without the presence of air, close the vent and / or filler caps
The priming operation must be repeated in the case of long periods of inactivity and whenever necessary
ATTENTION!
CHECK OF THE DIRECTION OF ROTATION
Check that the direction of rotation of the electric pump corresponds to that indicated by the arrow on the pump body and on the
plate placed on the motor fan cover. Turn the power on and off quickly and observe the direction of rotation of the motor cooling
fan through the holes in the fan cover. If the pump rotates in the opposite direction, reverse two phases on the terminal board.

the existence of the electrical grounding line and its continuity until the motor is connected,
the presence of an omnipolar disconnector / socket, capable of interrupting all the power supply
wires, to isolate the motor in the event of malfunctions or minor maintenance interventions (the
disconnecting device from the power supply network must be of the overvoltage category III).
The disconnector device must be lockable in the open position and the plug socket must always
be able to be under control to avoid unexpected reconnections.
the presence of an emergency stop button (if the risk assessment of the machine / system where
the pump will be installed provides for it).
an automatic interruption device of the power supply line coordinated with the power supply
system itself which intervenes in the event of an earth fault (indirect contacts);
a thermal protection device adjusted to a maximum absorbed current not exceeding 5% of the
rated current and with an intervention time of less than 30 seconds.
check that the power supply cable has an adequate section so as not to cause a voltage drop of
more than 3% and not to exceed the maximum operating temperature.
