The lighting of the installation environment must comply with the laws in force in the country where the
machine is installed and must in any case guarantee good visibility at every point, not create dangerous
reflections and allow clear reading of the control panels, as well as '' identification of the emergency
buttons: it is recommended that the minimum illumination be 400lux
The pump/electric pump must be installed as close as possible to the suction point of the liquid.
The available NPSH value in the lifting plant must be always bigger than the pump's NPSH, both in
installation under head and over head in order to avoid cavitation.
When pumping toxic, hazardous liquids or high temperatures, they have to take all necessary precautions
to avoid any loss and / or leakage could cause damage to people, animals, or the environment: the use and
installation of containment basins is recommended
CONNECTING THE PIPES (See pictures 14-15 Page 7-8)
Pipes must be suitable for the pump maximum working pressure.
The intake and delivery pipes must not transmit forces to the pumps due to their own weight and/or heat
expansion, at the risk of possible liquid leaks or breaking the pump. For this reason, the pipes must be
supported by anchorages and, if necessary, expansion joints must be inserted in the appropriate positions.
Pumps don't have to transmit vibrations to the pipes, therefore insert anti-vibration couplings in delivery
WARNING!
and, if it is possible, in suction.
Install a non-return valve on the delivery to prevent any backflow of the pumped liquid. Install a shut-off
valve on both the suction and delivery sides in the case of UNDER HEAD INSTALLATION, in the case of an
SUCTION LIFT INSTALLATION, the suction valve is at your discretion.
The suction pipe must be perfectly airtight and not positioned horizontally, but always go up towards the pump. In the case of
operation under the head, on the other hand, the intake pipe must always be descending towards the pump. Therefore, any
connection cones must be eccentric and oriented to avoid the formation of bubbles during priming or operation. It is advisable to
protect the pump by inserting a filter on the suction pipe (in the case of centrifugal pumps, install a foot valve with filter). However,
it is recommended to clean pipes, fittings, valves and so on before connecting the pump. To regulate the flow, install a gate valve
on the delivery pipe. The diameter of the pipeline must be such that the speed of the liquid does not exceed 1.5 - 2 m / s at the
suction, and 3 - 3.5 m / s at the delivery. In any case, the diameter of the pipes must not be less than the diameter of the pump
ports. The suction pipe must be absolutely watertight. After performing the listed checks, connect the piping to the pump.
If it is not possible to install a pressure gauge on the system, this can be placed using the pump filling cap (See Fig.5 - Pag.4 -
Part.1)
PUMP ALIGNMENT WITH ELASTIC JOINT (See picture 10 Page 4)
After installing the unit, it is necessary to check and possibly correct the alignment of the elastic joint
WARNING!
between the pump and the motor according to the data shown in Picture 10
Remove the coupling guard
Check the axial alignment
Check the angular alignment through a feeler gauge: the angular displacement has to be measured as the difference of
the gap between the two half coupling (Smax - Smin)
Check the radial displacement of the two semi-couplings by using a bracket or a comparator.
The angular and radial alignment are corrected by placing appropriate shims either under the motor or under the pump. Once the
alignment is complete, reassemble the protection making sure that it does not touch the joint.
Do not use the pump without coupling protection.
