TRANSPORTING
MOTOR REMOVAL
1. Make sure that the engine has stopped com-
pletely.
2. Remove the fuel hose from the motor.
3. Remove the motor cover.
4. Drain the gasoline from the engine fuel line
as follows:
(1) Pull out the drain hose end 1 from steering
tension adjuster.
(2) Tilt the motor fully down.
(3) Loosen the drain screw 2 and drain the
gasoline from fuel vapor separator 3 into a
suitable container.

(4) Tighten the drain screw 2.
(5) Tilt the motor fully up.
(6) Loosen the drain screw 2 again and drain
the remaining gasoline into a suitable con-
tainer.
WARNING
Gasoline is extremely flammable and
toxic. It can cause a fire and can be haz-
ardous to people and pets.
Use a proper, safe container to store any
gasoline drained from the outboard
motor. Keep gasoline away from sparks,
flames, people, and pets.
(7) After draining completely, retighten drain
screw 2.
(8) Tilt down the motor and put the drain hose
1 back.
