USE OF ELECTRICAL ACCESSORIES
To use electrical accessories, you must pur-
chase a 35 AH or larger battery, rectifier and
related items. (Recoil starter model only).
NOTICE
If you connect electrical accessories
directly to the power receptacle of the
motor, the electrical accessories could be
damaged.
Connect lights and electrical accessories
for the boat to the battery. Consult your
authorized Suzuki marine dealer for infor-
mation about correct wiring.
The amount of power (12V DC) available for
accessories depends on the operating condi-
tion of the motor. For getting a detailed informa-
tion, please inquire of your authorized Suzuki
Marine Dealer.
NOTE:
Use of too much power for electrical accesso-
ries under certain operating conditions can
cause the battery to discharge.
NOTE:
On the models equipped with a charge connec-
tor, detach the charge cord from the connector
and fit the cap to prevent water entry when not
in use.

BATTERY CHARGE
CUTOUT SYSTEM
This system activates when the battery voltage
drops to less than 6 volts while the engine is
running.
The battery charging circuit is open while the
system is activated.
All the charging current from the rectifier/regula-
tor is then used to power the engine control
system.
NOTE:
• Charging current will not flow from the recti-
fier/regulator to the battery while this system
is activated.
• When the system is activated the starter
motor will not operate because the battery
voltage is too low.
Check the battery condition and re-charge
the battery if necessary.
WARNING
Failure to take proper precautions when
inspecting or servicing the battery can be
hazardous.
Do not attempt to inspect or service the
battery without first reading the warn-
ings, cautions, and instructions in the
"BATTERY INSTALLATION" section of
this manual.
