15. Care and maintenance

Clean the exterior of the model and the remote control only with a soft, dry cloth or brush. Never use aggressive
cleansing agents or chemical solutions, because they might damage the surface of the housing.
Check regularly the screw connections of your helicopter.
Specially, the screws at the upper rotor shaft adjustment
ring (1) must always be firmly tightened.
Important!
Check the vertical clearance of the rotor shaft at regular
intervals. If the top set collar slides slightly upwards due
to a hard landing, the complete rotor shaft sinks
downwards. This way, the motor pinion can no longer reach
properly into the main transmission wheel.
To adjust the clearance of the tooth profile on the main
rotor drive, loosen the two attachment screws (1) on the
motor.
Then slide a thin paper strip (2) between the gearwheels.
Now gently press the pinion of the motor (3) against the
main gearwheel (4) and tighten the motor at the same
time.
After removing the paper strip, check the correct function
of the transmission.
Rotatable parts must turn easily but there must not be any play in the bearings.
When replacing mechanical parts use only original spares available from the manufacturer.
