9. Getting started with the transmitter

In the operating instructions, the numbers in the text always refer to the figure opposite or the figures
within the section. Cross references to other figures are indicated with the respective figure number.
a) Inserting the batteries/rechargeable batteries
For the power supply of the transmitter you will need 8 alkaline batteries (e.g. Conrad Item No. 652507, pack of 4,
order 2) or rechargeable batteries mignon size (AA). For ecological and also for economical reasons it is recommended
to use rechargeable batteries, since they can be recharged in the transmitter via a built-in charging socket (see figure
2, pos. 5).
To insert the batteries or rechargeable batteries, proceed as follows:
The battery compartment lid (1) is located on the rear side
of the transmitter. Please press the corrugated triangle
and push off the lid downward.
Remove the battery holder (2) and place 8 batteries or
rechargeable batteries in the battery compartment. Pay
attention to the correct polarity of the cells. A corresponding
indication (3) is located at the bottom of the battery
compartment.
In order to be able to place the battery compartment again
in the remote control easily, it might be helpful to disconnect
the BEC connector (4) then to re-connect it.
Afterwards slide on the lid of the battery compartment and
let the locking mechanism click into place.
c) Charging batteries in the transmitter
When using rechargeable batteries, you can attach a charging cable to the charging jack (se ill. 2, pos. 5) while the
transmitter is switched off to charge the rechargeable batteries in the transmitter.
It is very important that you pay attention to the correct polarity of the connector plug.
The inner contact of the charge socket has to be connected to the plus connection (+) and the outside
contact to the minus connection (-) of the charger.
