Infl ating a tyre
For safety reasons, wear safety goggles and ear
plugs when infl ating a tyre, particularly when using
infl ating devices with air jets.
When infl ating a tyre always follow WdK and
applicable national guidelines and relevant safety
standards to avoid most personal injuries and
material damage.
The infl ating pressure must not exceed the
tyre operating pressure by more than 50%
(recommended by WdK, German rubber industry
economic association). Seating pressure should
not exceed 3.3 bar. The fi nal pressure must not
exceed 3.5 bar.

General information about tyre
infl ating devices
For use in Germany, tyre infl ating devices (Fig.
28 / 31) are subject to German law with respect
to calibration (Offi cial Journal - Measuring and
calibration system law of 11 July 1969, paragraph
one, No. 2, section 3).
Pressure gauge calibration lasts for two years after
the end of the calendar year in which the equipment
was last calibrated.
For calibration in accordance with German
regulations, the year until which the equipment
is considered calibrated is specifi ed and/or for
EC calibration, the date when the equipment was
calibrated is stated.
The operator is responsible for any recalibration.
When calibration has to be repeated, the equipment
user must request calibration at the relevant offi ce.
For safety reasons a quick-infl ating valve preset to
3.5 bar is fi tted upstream of the pressure gauge for
the pedal-operated infl ating device, guaranteeing
that the maximum infl ating pressure does not
exceed 3.5 bar. All valve switching operations during
infl ation are clearly audible as a clicking noise,
therefore this is not a malfunction.
If wheels require a higher pressure, they have to be
infl ated using a special infl ation station equipped
with safety devices such as a safety cage, retaining
means and the like).
