Clamping wheels
• Before clamping a wheel, release the mounting/
demounting tool (1, Fig. 13), move the mounting/
demounting tool to its highest position, push the
mounting arm fully backwards and lock it again.
Depress the pedal (3, Fig. 13) to tilt the tower (2,
Fig. 13) backwards.
• Clean the wheel and remove the old balancing
weights.
4.1
Outer clamping of rims with a
diameter of between 10 and 24"
• Position the wheel
• Fully depress the pedal (1, Fig. 14) then take
your foot off the pedal. The wheel is clamped
(Fig. 15).
• Depress the pedal past the lower end of stroke
position then release it. The wheel is unclamped.
Rims with an asymmetrically arranged drop base
should be positioned so that the narrow shoul-
der faces upwards (see rim in Fig. 19).
The clamping jaws can be preset for wheels that are
diffi cult to clamp (sidewall of tyre is very stiff).
4.2
Presetting the clamping jaws
Caution! Make sure all four clamping jaws are
mounted identically (1 or 2, Fig. 16). Otherwise the
rim may come loose and injure the operator!
Very Important: look for proper insertion of the pin
• Depress pedal (1, Fig. 14) smoothly as far as
the centre position. If the pedal is released,
the clamping jaws remain in the position they
reached.
Rim diameters are shown in inches on the turntable
(A, Fig. 16). The diameter setting (mark on jaw (B)
must coincide with mark on turntable) depends on
the clamping jaw position 1, or 2.
• In jaws position 1 the diameter is preset directly
(1, Fig. 16). In position 2 (2, Fig. 16) 4" have to
be added.
• Position the wheel and press it down on the
turntable manually.
• Depress pedal past the end of stroke position and
release it. The wheel is clamped.
