Adjusting the mounting/
demounting tool
Before demounting and/or mounting a tyre, make
sure the mounting arm is pushed fully backwards
and the mounting/demounting tool is in its highest
position.
When handling several wheels with the same
dimensions, the mounting/demounting tool can
remain in the operating position set for the fi rst
wheel.
To avoid damaging alloy rims when tyres are
mounted and demounted, the mounting/demounting
tool must be applied to the rim very carefully. It
has also proved useful to set clearances slightly
larger than shown in Fig. 19 between the mounting/
demounting tool and the rim.
Hexagonal bar speed adjustment is described under
Fig. 20.

5 Pedal for tilting the tower
• Fully depress the pedal (5, Fig. 18). The tower is
tilted into the operating position.
• Release the mounting/demounting tool locking
mechanism.
• Move the mounting/demounting tool towards the
rim and position it on the rim. The beak-shaped
tool and the bead guide roller may make contact
with the rim (Fig. 19).
• Operate the push-button (2, Fig. 18) for
mounting/demounting tool automatic height and
lateral clearance adjustment and locking in the
operating position (Fig. 19).
