CLEANING AND STORING YOUR LIFE JACKET

To avoid inflation, do not submerge the inflatable life jacket or
directly spray the inflator. Hand wash or sponge down the life jacket
in warm, soapy water. Rinse the life jacket and inflator with clean
water, using a clean rinse cloth. Hang the life jacket to dry on a
plastic coat hanger. Do not dry clean.
Always store your life jacket in a warm, dry place out of
direct sunlight.

HOW AND WHY TO TEST YOUR LIFE JACKET

Inflate your life jacket and try it out in the water to:
Make sure it floats you:
• Comfortably (when worn properly)
• Adequately for expected wave conditions (body shapes/
densities a ect performance)
Make sure it works:
• A flow of bubbles should not appear (see "Care and
Maintenance Instructions" for Leak Test, page 16).
• It should inflate quickly and easily.
Learn how it works by:
• Activating the CO
• Re-arming the CO
• Using the oral inflator tube
Transport Canada recommends that you purchase at least two
re-arming kits (MA5283): one to be used immediately in testing the
inflation system and the other to carry onboard as a spare.
