The instructions for use of this equipment consist of different sets: general instruc-
tions, specific instructions for connectors and quickdraws and accessory instruc-
tions for the Ice Hook quickdraws. All sets of instructions must be carefully read
before using the equipment. Caution! This document only contains the accessory
instructions for the Ice Hook quickdraws.
ACCESSORY INSTRUCTIONS - ICE HOOK. This document provides the informa-
tion necessary to correctly use the following product/products: Ice Hook quick-
draws for ice-screws.
1) FIELD OF APPLICATION. Connectors and slings that compose of the Ice Hook
quickdraws are certified to EN 12275:2013-B and EN 566:2017 respectively,
and their requirements are available in the specific instructions that come with the
product. Caution! Technical data regarding the slings are shown herein (Fig. 1).
2) NOMENCLATURE (Fig. 2). A) Connector. B) Sling. C) Plate. D) Ring. E) Fixit
positioning device.
2.1 - Principal materials. Refer to the explanatory key within the general instruc-
tions (paragraph 2.4): 3 (connector); 10/13 (sling).
3) INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE.
Ice Hook quickdraws are compatible with all ice screws bearing a maximum
diameter of 20 mm. Caution! Once inserted, verify that the device cannot come
out from the ice screw on the opposite side of the thread. Caution! For the use of
the ice screw, please refer to the instructions for use of the same screw.
3.1 - Installation. Insert the plate, pushing it towards the head of the ice screw
(Fig. 3.1). Once the plate has reached the unthreaded part of the screw, insert
the ring into the plate from its open side by pressing it (Fig. 3.2). The equipment
is now correctly assembled. Caution! Verify that the equipment can move without
hindrance along the unthreaded part of the fastener without going beyond the
threads.
3.2 - Disassembly/replacement. To remove or replace the Ice Hook quickdraw
installed on an ice screw, simply push it until when it overlaps the threads, hold
it and turn the screw in an anti-clockwise direction until it is completely removed
(Fig. 3.3).
