Warning! The coolant circulation must be checked at regular
intervals while the machine is in operation - it must be possible to
see that the return-flow to the reservoir is working correctly. If you
attach an extension hosepack, the coolant level will drop - and
must then be topped up.
Cooling-unit cut-out function
120 sec. after the last welding operation, the cooling unit automatically
switches over to the stand-by mode. Next time you start welding again,
the cooling unit is reactivated.
MOUNTING THE WIRE SPOOL
- Shift the mains switch
to the "O" position
- Open the left side panel of the power source / wirefeeder
- Unscrew the plastic mount
- Mount the wire spool onto the spool holder
- Latch the locking bolt into the opening provided on the body of the
spool
- Screw the plastic mount back on
- Adjust the braking force with the clamping screw
- Close the wire-spool cover /side panel again
N.B.! The brake should always be adjusted so that the wire does not
continue unreeling after the end of welding - but without overtightening
the clamping screw, as this would cause motor overload.
FEEDING IN THE WIRE ELECTRODE
- Shift the mains switch
into the "O" position
- Open the left side panel of the power source or the housing of the
wirefeeder
- Pivot the clamping device
forwards
- Pull the pressure lever
upwards
- Insert the wire electrode though the infeed tube
of the 2-roller drive, and around 5 cm into the infeed tube of the
welding torch
- Push the pressure lever
downwards
- Pivot the clamping device
into the vertical position
- Set the contact pressure by means of the clamping nut
N.B.! Set a contact pressure that is high enough to ensure smooth wire
feed, but not so high that the wire electrode is deformed.
- Arrange the hosepack in as straight a line as possible
- Detach the gas nozzle from the torch
- Unscrew the contact tube
- Plug in the mains plug
- Shift the mains switch
into the "I" position
Warning! During the wire-infeed operation, hold the welding
torch facing away from your body.
- Set a value between 5 and 10 m/min with the wirefeed-speed dial
- Shift the operating-mode selector switch

and the drive roller
to the wire-inching position
- Press and release the torch trigger
- Welding wire runs into the torch hosepack, with no gas or current
- Briefly press the torch trigger again to end the wire-inching procedure
N.B.! The wire spool must not continue to unreel after you release the
torch trigger. Re-adjust the brake if necessary.
- Screw in the contact tube
- Fit the gas nozzle
- Replace the left side panel of the power source or the housing of the
wirefeeder unit
- Shift the mains switch
into the "0" position

SETTING THE SHIELDING-GAS RATE
- Open the left side panel of the power source
- Plug in the machine at the mains
- Shift the mains switch
to the "I" position
- Shift the operating-mode selector switch
- Press and hold the torch trigger
- Turn the adjusting-screw on the underside of the pressure regulator
until the manometer indicates the desired shielding gas flow-rate
- Release the torch trigger
- Shift the mains switch
into the "O" position
- Unplug the machine from the mains
- Fit the left side panel of the power source back on
CHANGING THE FEED ROLLERS
In order to achieve satisfactory wire travel, the feed rollers must be
suitable for the diameter and alloy of the wire to be welded.
- Shift the mains switch
into the "O" position
- Open the left side panel of the power source / housing of the
wirefeeder unit
- Pivot the clamping device
- Pull the pressure lever
upwards
- Pull out the first axle
- Remove the pressure roller
- Insert the new pressure roller
- Insert the axle
again - the anti-twist lock of the axle must latch into
place
- Take out the other axle
- Detach the drive roller
- Insert the new drive roller
