6) Ensure that the instruction booklet is not
left in the package and lost.
The packaging material (plastic bags,
expanded polystyrene, timber, cardboard,
nails, etc.) represent a safety hazard and
consequently must not be left within the
reach of children. Collect and keep for further
transportation or long-term storage (see par.
9) Before connecting up the appliance, check
that the rating plate details correspond to
those of the existing electric network. The
appliance must only ever be used for the
purposes it was explicitly designed for.
5. GETTING THE APPLIANCE
STARTED
5.1 POSITIONING REQUIREMENTS
These washing machines demand no
positioning requirement other than a raised
and level base.
Align by the use of a spirit level.
Repeat levelling after moving the machine.
Check that clamp nuts are securely fastened.
5.2 SPACE REQUIRED FOR
INSTALLATION, USE AND
MAINTENANCE
The washing machine requires the minimum
space indicated in dimensional figure 1:
1) Drain
2) Control panel
3) Automatic disconnection switch (not
supplied)
5) Connection available for equipotential
terminal
6) Power supply inlet through protective
duct
7) Hot water inlet
8) Cold water inlet
9) Steam inlet (steam-heated models only)
10) Air break.
11) Dispenser
12) Door
13) Emergency puller
14) Door-opening handle
The size of the floor-fastening holes can be
found on the installation diagrams available
on our website or from our technical service.
* The cutoff switch must be in a position
allowing easy access to the operator in any
EMERGENCY event (maximum distance 3
m).
5.3 ALLOWABLE ROOM
CONDITIONS FOR PROPER
MACHINE SERVICE (Let these
conditions be known to machine users)
-
TYPE OF ROOM: CLOSED
-
MINIMUM TEMPERATURE: 10°C
(note: when ambient temperature is
below 10°C, electronic parts may work
irregularly)
-
MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE: 40°C
-
RELATIVE HUMIDITY: 75% H.R.
-
LIGHTING: 100 LUX (value valid for
Italy; given the variety of regulations
regarding lighting in working premises,
for other national provisions it will be
necessary to consult the relevant national
codes).
5.4 MASON WORK
For correct operation, this washing machine
needs to be anchored to the floor by means
of the clamps supplied.
Considering the high kinetic energy
developed during spinning steps (see table
below), to avoid noise it is not recommended
to position machine models for 8, 11 and 18
kg in upper floors, and it is totally forbidden
for models for 24 and 37 kg.
Choose machine position according to the
logical route of the laundry and position of
the existing water and power sources.
Provide for a floor drain at an elevation
below the machine drain, that can be
connected to the washing machine, using
the supplied elbow fitting.
The height of the concrete base depends on
the height of the laundry trolley, which must
reach the door but must not hamper door
opening.
Cast the anchoring base; bury the clamps
supplied using a pre-shaped form if
necessary.
Seven days after casting, position the
machine and fasten it by the supplied nuts
and washers.

5.5 ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
The machine must be installed by
professionally qualified personnel, in
accordance with the instructions provided
by the manufacturer and local regulations.
Incorrect installation may cause harm to
persons, animals or property. The
manufacturer assumes no responsibility for
such damage.
Make sure power supply voltage corresponds
to that indicated on the rating plate of the
washing machine. Consider also that the
maximum allowable power voltage variation
is ±10%.
IMPORTANT: CONNECTING THE
MACHINE TO EARTH IS MANDATORY.
To this purpose, the terminal block is fitted
with a specific contact, which must be
connected according to the regulations in
force. The manufacturer assumes no
responsibility for damage resulting from
non-observance of this accident prevention
principle.
In compliance with the latest accident
prevention provisions, the machine is
provided with an external terminal for
equipotential connection.
Upstream of the appliance an automatic
omnipolar cut-off switch must be provided
for, with contact gaps no smaller than 3 mm,
and set according to the maximum rated input
(cfr. table 2 below and machine rating table).

Place a 20 mm (outer diameter) cable duct
between the disconnection switch and the
machine electric power inlet, which is located
at the rear of the machine, in a protected
terminal block. In case of machines with
internal power-supply terminal-strip the
power cable entrance is fitted with a clamp.
After inserting the stiff pipe it will be
necessary to tighten the nut from inside the
machine. Use one of the cable types
appearing in the table. Make sure it is fire-
proof and properly protected. Once the cable
has been connected to the external terminal
strip, tighten the cable-clamping screw. If
the machine has an external terminal strip
screw the cable clamp inside.

The machine must be powered following the
correct phase cyclic sequence: R-S-T (A1-
A2-A3) (L1-L2-L3). Altering such a
sequence may cause damage to the appliance.
It is possible to test phase direction manually
as follows:
- Connect the three phases, the neutral and
earth wires.
- Turn the wall cutoff switch on and then
manually press the spin contactor (C2): if
spinning is clockwise, the phases are
