Protection via "secure element": For class 3-star: Where technically possible, the
application data must be stored in a secure element.
The manufacturer must inform the operator of the application in the operator
documentation that the use of a secure element in the smart device offers added
value for security and must recommend the use of a suitable smart device.
Measures against root exploits
The operator of the application must be informed in the documentation that, for
VdS-compliant operation, where technically possible, suitable measures must be
taken to protect the smart device from (root) exploits and that he must ask the
manufacturer immediately whether a remedy software update is available when
an exploit is identified. In this case, the operator is responsible for installing this.
The application must reliably detect if the operator is running the application
with administrative rights or obtains them during use. In this case, the application
must be ended immediately and secured against restarting.
Additional requirements in accordance with VdS 3169-2
The wireless communication route between the master (in this case ComHub)
and client (in this case the locking cylinder) corresponds to the requirements of
the VdS 3169-2 directive.
