System Limitations and Requirements

WARNING!
A body belt is not approved for use with the HLL system. If a fall occurs when a body belt is in use, it
may cause unintentional release and possible suffocation because of incorrect body support. A full body
harness is the only acceptable body-support device that may be used in a fall arrest system.
Do not leave this product installed in environments which could cause damage or deterioration to the
product. Refer to instructions for care and inspection details. Do not leave unattended loads on this
product.
Chemical hazards, heat and corrosion may damage this product. More frequent inspections are required
in these environments.
Avoid using this product adjacent to moving machinery, electrical hazards or abrasive surfaces or in the
presence of excessive heat, open flame or molten metal.
Do not use this product near energized equipment of where contact with high voltage power lines may
occur. Metal components may provide a path for electrical current to flow, resulting in an electrical shock
or electrocution.
Make sure that connectors are compatible in size, shape, and strength. Connectors that are not compat-
ible can accidentally disengage.
Do not use touch or hearing to make sure that the snap hook or carabiner has engaged correctly. Look
to make sure that the gate and keeper are closed before use.
Do NOT connect snap hooks and carabiners together.
Failure to obey these warnings can result in serious injury or death.

1.5.2 Free Fall

According to OSHA requirements, personal fall arrest subsystems used with the HLL system must limit free
