F. Advice from the Chefs
Cut large pieces of food into 3cm pieces before
chopping. This will ensure a more consistent result.
The bigger the pieces, the more time will be required
for chopping.
Use the
function to chop. This will eff ectively
allow the food to drop to the bottom of the bowl
after each burst of power and the food will thus be
perfectly chopped.
Regularly check the texture to ensure you don't over
process. This also applies for crushed ice.
To chop herbs, the bowls and blades must be dry.
The more herbs, the fi ner they will be chopped. Once
chopped, they may be frozen in an airtight container.
For perfectly chopped whole peppers, remove the
stem and scoop out the seeds from the top. Leave the
end opposite the stem whole to keep the structure
fi rm.
To slice cheese: All cheeses may be sliced. Generally,
soft cheeses do not lend themselves to slicing and
very hard cheeses may damage the disc or the
appliance itself. Never try to slice a cheese that is too
hard to cut with a knife.
The chopping blade may also be used to make
mayonnaise. This procedure is very quick and
ensures perfect results.
For thick preparations like 'butter cream' , soften the
butter to prevent lumps from forming.
G. Cleaning and storage of the
accessories
The appliance can be left on the kitchen work
surface. Unplug it when it is not in use.
Always unplug the appliance before cleaning it.
Clean the bowl before using it for the fi rst time and
after every use to prevent food from drying on it. Do
not store food or liquids in the bowl.
Handle the blade or reversible disc very carefully
when cleaning these by hand. To avoid risk of injury,
do not leave the blade in soapy water where it may
disappear from sight.
Store the blade and the slicing/grating disc out of
the reach of children.
All the appliance parts, except the motor housing,
are dishwasher safe.
To clean the motor housing, use a damp sponge
with a little soft detergent. Do not use an abrasive
sponge.
CAUTION: Never immerse the motor housing in water
or any other liquid and never place in the washing
machine.
