MODES OF RECORDING

This section introduces the modes of
recording available with this unit.
÷ Automatic digital-source synchro recording
is recommended when recording from a CD,
DAT, MD or DCC source.
The track numbers are updated automatically by this
unit.
Please note: Automatic synchro recording is only
possible when using the optical or coaxial digital
inputs to the unit. The AES/EBU digital input does
not carry the start and stop information required.
This unit provides five modes of recording on CD-R and CD-RW
discs. Within these four modes, there are two types of
automatic digital source recording modes, which can be
selected by pressing the DIGITAL SYNCHRO button
repeatedly. The two types of automatic digital-source
synchro recording are described in further detail below.
Automatic digital-source synchro
recording (1-track)
When the source component starts to play, one track is
recorded, recording then stops at the end of the track. This
mode is convenient for compilation recording from various
sources, CD, DAT, MD or DCC. (Refer to page 54 for the
recording set up procedure)
Automatic digital-source synchro
recording (all-track)
When the source component starts to play, all tracks are
recorded and the recording automatically stops after the last
track. This mode is convenient for recording an entire CD,
DAT, MD or DCC. (Refer to page 58 for the recording set-up
procedure.)
Automatic finalization recording
This mode automatically finalizes the disc after an all-track
automatic digital source synchro recording. (Refer to page 52
for the recording set-up procedure.)
Manual digital source recording
This recording mode is used for recording from digital
sources other than those referred to above, or when manual
control of the recording is required. Recording is started and
stopped manually. (Refer to page 62 for the recording set up
procedure)
Analog-source recording
This mode is used for recording the line output of the source
equipment. (Refer to page 64 for the recording set-up
procedure.)
