3.3.2 Setting the vacuum
1. Switch on the device by pressing the on/off button (fig. 11(F)).
2. Select the desired vacuum range by pressing the corresponding button
("Low", "Medium" or "High") on the control panel (fig. 11(A, B, C)).
As described in section 3.3.1, the vacuum setting buttons correspond
to certain vacuum ranges.
3. You can perform fine adjustments of the set vacuum via the additional air
opening on the fingertip (fig. 12).

4. Switch off the device by holding the on/off button (fig. 11(F)) pressed for
1-2 seconds.
3.3.3 Aspiration
1. Perform the aspiration procedure as you were instructed by specialized
personnel.
2. Control the aspiration procedure and the desired vacuum via the additional
air opening on the fingertip (fig. 12).
3. Decommission the device after the aspiration procedure according to
section 3.4.
In any case, please take note of section 2.4 and the important informa-
tion on the handling of the bacterial filter! Ensure that the battery has
a sufficient capacity during the aspiration procedure. The battery status
display must signalize green or orange. If the display turns red, the
power supply unit must be plugged in immediately. Only in this case the
aspiration can be continued without any interruption.
3.4 Decommissioning
Health risks due to the handling of infectious or
pathogenic germs
Infectious and pathogenic germs in the aspirate cause health risks.
•
Replace the bacterial filter at least every 2 weeks when used exclu-
sively for one patient!
•
Wear suitable disposable gloves in doing so.
•
The reuse of bacterial filters for multiple patients is prohibited for
hygiene and safety reasons!
•
For each new patient, processing by
Heinen + Löwenstein GmbH & Co. KG or by an authorized ser-
vice partner of Heinen + Löwenstein GmbH & Co. KG is strictly
required!
•
After each aspiration, all components that have come into contact
with the aspirate must be cleaned, disinfected or disposed of.
•
The aspirate and the parts contaminated with aspirate must be
disposed of properly.
1. Switch off the device after the aspiration by holding the on/off button
(fig. 11(F)) pressed for 1-2 seconds.
2. Disconnect the power supply unit from the mains supply (100 V to 240 V
AC) if attached and remove the device plug from the aspiration device
afterwards.
3. Remove the suction tube (fig. 1(G)) from the aspiration catheter and from
the secretion canister.
4. Clean or dispose of the suction tube properly (see section 4.1.4 resp. 4.2.4).

5. Remove the reusable secretion canister from the device by pressing the
unlocking mechanism on the secretion canister lid and pivoting the secretion
canister out of the device afterwards.
