❐ Make sure that the connected mains cable does not present a trip hazard. Do not
allow the cable to hang over the edge of tables or kitchen counters. Others may
become caught and pull the device down.
❐ Never leave the device unattended when it is connected to the mains. Pull out the
mains plug if you stop ironing for prolonged periods.
❐ Always allow the device to cool down completely before you clean the device and/
or store it away.
❐ Keep the device out of the reach of children!
❐ Never turn the hot device upside down or on its side as otherwise hot water can
escape. The exception to this is controlled emptying of the water reservoir.
❐ When emptying the water reservoir, avoid any contact with the emerging water or
steam.
Danger of Electric Shock and Fire
❐ Connect the device only to a properly installed socket with safety contacts. The plug
socket must also be readily accessible after connection so that the connection to
the mains can quickly be isolated. The mains voltage must match the technical data
of the device. Be aware that the mains power grids in different countries operate at
different voltage levels. Check whether the local mains voltage corresponds to the
technical data of the device. Only use suitable extension cables and plug adapters
whose technical data is the same as that of the device.
❐ Never immerse the device in water or other liquids! Ensure that the device, the cable
or the plug cannot fall into water or become wet. Should the device fall into water,
switch off the power supply immediately.
❐ Never touch the device, the cable or the plug with wet hands.
❐ Never direct the steam directly at mains cables or parts containing electrical compo-
nents (e. g. inside ovens, fridges, at switches and lights, microwave ovens).
❐ Switch the device off and remove the mains plug from the plug socket
– if you are not using the device,
– if a fault occurs during operation,
– before a thunderstorm,
– before you pour water into the water reservoir or empty it,
– before you clean and/or store away the device.
❐ When you want to remove the mains plug from the socket, always pull the plug and
never the mains cable.
❐ Use the device only in enclosed spaces.
❐ Do not use the device in rooms containing easily ignitable dust or poisonous and
explosive fumes.
❐ Do not operate the device in a very damp environment or in the vicinity of combus-
tible material.
❐ Immediately after ironing, place the still hot device down a minimum distance of
15 cm away from walls, furniture and other objects.
