Attention in hazardous areas!


If the coupling does not function properly, the operator must stop the pump.
No flame-cutting, welding or cutting work is required for maintenance and inspection.

Installation and assembly

Secure the motor-side coupling half against axial displacement with a threaded pin
(Mt = 4 Nm). Secure the threaded pin against loosening with an adhesive. The adhesive
must have a temperature resistance of at least 125°C.
Observe the installation instructions for three-phase motors.

Eliminate faults immediately by observing the repair instructions.
Pay attention to changed running noises or occurring vibrations during daily checks.

During fault-free operation, the coupling has no effective ignition
sources. The operator ensures trouble-free operation by means of
inspection, maintenance and repair.
Do not carry out maintenance or inspection work on the coupling in
a potentially explosive atmosphere.
Perform comprehensive equipotential bonding on pump and motor.
The sprocket can wear out due to friction, so that the coupling
halves touch each other and ignitable impact sparks could form.
Therefore, check the wear first after ~3,000 hours and again every
3,000 hours or after 6 months at the latest.
Replace the sprocket if wear is visible.
The coupling must be checked by a competent person for correct
installation and faultless function before commissioning and at least
every 3 years.
These checks must be documented.
To maintain the explosion protection concept only the spare parts
specified by the manufacturer may be used
