d) Mounting the Tail Spur
The tail spur (1) must be screwed to the fuselage with
two thread-cutting screws 8 x 2 mm.
Push the wire of the tail spur (2) into the holder (3) and
attach the holder to the rudder (4) with a screw M1.5 x
10 mm.
e) Mounting the Elevator and Rudder Servos
Install the servos for elevator and rudders as shown in
figure 4.
Install one clevis each to the rudder linkages. The clevis
needs to be about at the centre of the thread of the
rudder hinges here.
Put the elevator and rudder servos in the neutral
position so that the servo rudder horns are at precisely
90° to the servo casing.
Clip the clevises to the rudder arms of both servos.
Shorten the rods so that the elevator and rudder units
are also in the neutral positions.
The rudder hinges must be angled by 90° with a side
length of about 6 mm and pushed into the rudder horns.
Clip one clevis protection to each rudder horn.
Finally, shorten the rods at the threaded clevises so that the elevator and rudder are precisely in the neutral positions.
Then counter the clevises with the installed nut.
