INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE
Maintenance of the hose bundle
Regular maintenance is necessary for proper operation of the hose bundle.
The gas nozzle should be sprayed regularly with protective nozzle spray and the inte-
rior should be protected from
encrustations.
Safety guidelines for inspection and maintenance
Only a device which has been regularly serviced and well maintained can provide a
satisfactory tool.
Wrong maintenance and cleaning can lead to unpredictable accidents
and injuries.

Troubleshooting
Disturbance, cause
Volatile or unstable arc?
Incorrect welding voltage adjustment
Too much/too little wire
Workpiece clamp loose or large contact resistance
(rust, paint)
Contact nozzle worn or incorrect diameter
Incorrect gas quantity set
Workpiece not clean in the weld area
Defective power supply element
Dirty feed spiral
Defective feed
Much spatter while welding?
Too much wire
Welding voltage too high
Workpiece dirty
Feed motor not running?
No mains power
Voltage regulator is set to zero
Torch switch not actuated
Fuse
Motor defective
No wire transfer?
Pressure roll too loose
Wire bent on feed
Feed roll groove worn
Wire melted to the contact nozzle
Device switches off, overload indicator lights us
Duty cycle (ED) exceeded
Defective power supply element

Solution
Correct adjustment on voltage regulator
Correct adjustment on wire feed regulator
Ensure good contact between the workpiece and
the workpiece clamp
Replace
Set the amount of gas
Remove paint, rust, grease etc.
Bring the device to a service workshop
Clean and replace
See below
Reduce the setting of the wire feed regulator
Reduce the setting of the voltage regulator
Clean
Check mains connection
Set voltage level
Use the torch switch
Have the fuse replaced by a professional electri-
cian
Bring the device to a service workshop
Increase pressure on leaf spring using the knurled-
head screw
Align the inlet nozzle
Replace the feed wheel
Replace contact nozzle if the wire is deformed
Reduce pressure
Allow device to cool down, maintain ED as indica-
ted on the nameplate
Bring the device to a service workshop
