• Rotate the tyre and make the necessary adjustments until the upper bead has been mounted.
• It may be useful to help the operation with a second Run-Flat gripper and/or the bead presser
accessory, if available.
• Using the bead breaker disc, remove the Run-Flat grippers used.
• Connect the inflation line to the valve for bead insertion.
WARNING
Inflation is well known to be a dangerous operation. It must be carried out in accordance with
the instructions below. Safety goggles with plain lenses and safety footwear must be worn.
CAUTION
During this operation, noise levels assessed at 85 dB(A) may occur. Operators are advised
to wear hearing protection devices.
DANGER
Although the machine limits the pressure, it does not provide sufficient protection if the tyre
bursts during inflation.
Failure to comply with the instructions below will render tyre inflation dangerous.
DANGER
NEVER exceed the pressure recommended by the tyre manufacturer. Tyres may burst if they
are inflated beyond these limits or their structures may incur serious damage not visible at
the time. KEEP YOUR HANDS AND THE WHOLE BODY WELL AWAY FROm THE TYRE DURING
INFLATION. make sure you are concentrated during this operation and check tyre pressure
continuously to avoid excess inflation. A bursting tyre can cause serious injuries or even death.
- Make sure that the wheel on which the tyre has been mounted is firmly secured to the turntable
using the clamping device 1 fig. 34. Also make sure that the tool-carrying head and the bead bre-
aking unit are well clear of the working area, if possible in a rest position.
- Fix a new valve to the rim.
- Connect the Doyfe inflator chuck 22 fig. 34 on the air hose to the valve stem, after removing the
cap. Inflate the tyre by pressing Pedal 14 fig. 34. The tyre expands and the beads seat.
- Continue inflating up to the maximum value of 3.5 bar to position the tyre correctly on the rim.
Make sure you are concentrated during this operation and check tyre pressure continuously on
the Pressure gauge display 17 fig. 34 to avoid excess inflation.
Inflating tubeless tyres requires a higher air flow-rate to allow the beads to bypass the rim HUMPS -
see types of rim profiles for mounting without a camera in fig.33; therefore, the internal mechanism
of the valve should be removed.
In terms of the bead anchoring to its site, the HUMP (H) and double HUMP (H2) versions (fig.33)
provide greater running safety, even if the inflation pressure is slightly lower than the operating one.
- From the position of the centring ridges check that the beads are properly positioned on the rim;
otherwise, deflate the tyre, break the beads as described in the relevant section, lubricate and turn
the tyre on the rim. Repeat the mounting operation described previously and check again.
- Replace the internal mechanism of the valve.
- Bring the pressure to the operating value by pressing the Inflation push-button 20 fig. 34.
- Fit the cap to the valve to protect its internal mechanism from dust and ensure an airtight seal.
- Remove and unload the wheel as described in steps 10-11 of the "TYRE MOUNTING" section.
