13) Pay close attention when operating the machine in reverse, make sure that there are no
obstacles behind you. In case of danger release the handlebar and the machine will stop
immediately.
14) It is dangerous to sharply activate the levers with the engine at maximum r.p.m.
15) Do not operate the engine in a confined space where dangerous carbon monoxide fumes can
collect.
16) Stop the engine before refuelling and keep away from naked flames. Never smoke when
refuelling.
17) CAUTION: Petrol is highly inflammable. Store fuel in containers especially designed for this
purpose. Refuel outdoors and away from any open flames or sparks. Never smoke when refuelling.
Stop the engine before refuelling and never refuel with the engine running. Never remove the tap
of the fuel tank or add fuel when the engine is hot. If
engine but move the machine away from the area of spillage and avoid creating any source of
ignition until fuel vapours have dissipated. After refuelling all fuel caps should be closed securely.
18) Make sure you work preferably in natural light or good artificial light.
IMPROPER USE TO BE AVOIDED
19) Never use the all purpose flail to crush building, metallic and plastic material nor roots and
trunks or any sort of garbage.
20) Do not use the machine to transport people, animals or objects.
FURTHER SAFETY ADVICE
21) Never disable safety devices.
22) Always stop the engine before making any adjustment or cleaning.
23) Never allow anyone to check the machine with engine running.
24) The user is always responsible for injuries or damages caused to third parties and for any risk
they could run.
25) Pay close attention when working near ditches.
26) Crooked or damaged blades must always be replaced, never repaired.
27) Always use genuine Grillo spare parts.
28) Before starting any work with the machine, check that all the accident prevention systems with
which it is equipped with are in perfect working order. They must never be disabled or tampered
with.
29) Before starting work, check that the nuts and bolts securing the all purpose flail and tines are
perfectly secured.
30) Never operate the machine without safety protective devices in place (such as mudguards and
engine bonnets).
31) Never clean the all purpose flail with the engine running.
32) Never use the machine barefoot.
33) Never change the max RPM engine settings nor any other engine settings.
34) Allow the engine to cool before storing in any enclosure.
35) CAUTION: To reduce the risk of fire, keep the engine, the exhaust pipe and the exhaust
manifolds free from grass, leaves, dust, etc...

39) Do not lift or transport the machine with the engine running.
