Calibration
5.3.1 Purpose of calibration
Information about the calibration, you find also in
the manual of the transmitter.
Calibration should be performed at least after each
change of the MembraCap.
Since the measurement of the thermal conductivity is
dependent on the diffusional properties of the used
MembraCap, a calibration after exchange is manda-
tory to regain accurate CO
5.3.3 Single point calibration in-line, off-line
The sensor is designed to provide accurate CO
measurement with a simple slope calibration using
a pure CO
partial pressure of the CO
The calibration can be performed in-line or by dis-
mounting the sensor and performing the calibration
in the workshop.
METTLER TOLEDO offers a calbox (P/N: 52 300 400)
as a support for the sensor for workshop calibration.
The CalBox has a 6 mm hose connection to connect
the calibration gas.
h
Note: If the calibration is done in the workshop,
make sure a purge air source is used.
h
Note: The air supply (purge air) needs to be active
at all times while performing a calibration.
Calibration procedure:
– Start the calibration by pressing the cal button on
the transmitter and chosing "1-point calibration"
– Process pipe needs to be filled with the calibra-
tion gas
– After exposing the sensor to the calibration gas
confirm on the transmitter that the "Sensor is in
Gas"
– Enter the known CO
bration menu in mbar or hPa and continue
– Per default the sensor starts calibration when
CO
– For user convenience the Auto-Cal mode can
be changed to manual cal mode. In this case
the calibration can be started as soon as the
sensor delivers a measured value (approx. every
20 sec.), provided a stable reading is given
– Once the calibration is done, save the calibration
onto the sensor by selecting "Save Adjust"
– A message "calibration successful" appears and
the user is asked to "Re-install sensor"
– Now the sensor is recalibrated and ready for use
