15 Cleaning

► Fold down the upper handlebar.
► Store the tiller in accordance with the following
conditions:
– The tiller is on a level surface resting on the
front wheel, hoes and blade spur.
– The tiller is out of reach of children.
– The tiller is clean and dry.
► If the tiller is to be stored for more than three
months:
► Remove the hoes.
► Open the fuel tank cap.
► Empty the fuel tank.
► Seal the fuel tank.
► Have the fuel tank cleaned by a STIHL spe‐
cialist dealer.
► Start the engine and leave it idling until it
cuts out.
15 Cleaning
15.1
Cleaning the Tiller
► Stop the engine.
► Allow the tiller to cool down.
► Clean the tiller with a damp cloth or STIHL
resin solvent.
► Clean the ventilation slots with a paintbrush.
► Spray the drive shaft with STIHL multispray.
15.2
Cleaning the Hoes
► Stop the engine.
► Allow the tiller to cool down.
► Place the front wheel in the operating position.
► Set the handlebar to the lowest level.

► Detach retaining pin (1) and remove pin (2).
► Remove the blade spur together with
adapter (3).
► Rest the tiller on the handlebar and do not
leave in the position for longer than it takes to
clean it.

16 Maintenance

16.1
Maintenance Intervals
Maintenance intervals are dependent on the
ambient conditions and the working conditions.
STIHL recommends the following maintenance
intervals:
Engine and oil bath air filter
► Maintain the engine and oil bath air filter as
described in the engine instruction manual.
Before each use:
► Check the gearbox oil level.
After the first month or after 20 operating hours:
► Change the gearbox oil.
Every 6 months or after 100 operating hours:
► Change the gearbox oil.
16.2
Lubricating the Gearbox
► Stop the engine.
► Place the tiller on a level surface.
► Place the front wheel in the transport position.
► Fasten blade spur at fifth bore.
