c When not in use, keep the
rechargeable battery away from
paper clips, coins, keys, nails,
screws or other small metallic
objects that may bridge the
contacts. A shortcircuit between
the rechargeable battery contacts
can lead to burns or fire.
d Fluid can escape from the bat
tery when used incorrectly.
Avoid all contact with this. In
the event of accidental contact,
rinse with water. If liquid should
get into the eyes, get medical
assistance. Battery fluid may
result in skin irritations and burns.
e Do not use a damaged or mod
ified battery. Damaged or modi
fied batteries may behave unpre
dictably and lead to fire, explosion
or personal injury.
f Do not expose a battery to fire
or high temperatures. Fire or
temperatures over 130 °C can
cause an explosion.
g Follow all charging instructions
and never charge the battery
or the cordless tool outside the
temperature range specified
in the operating instructions.
Incorrect charging or charging
outside the permitted temperature
range can destroy the battery and
increase the risk of fire
6 Service
a Have your power tool serviced
by a qualified repair person
using only identical replace
ment parts. This will ensure that
the safety of the power tool is
maintained.

b Never service damaged bat
teries. All battery maintenance
should be performed by the man
ufacturer or by authorised service
centres only.
7 Special safety tips for drills
1) Safety precautions for all tasks
a Wear ear defenders when impact
drilling. The effects of noise may
lead to a loss of hearing.
b Use the additional handle(s).
Loss of control may lead to inju
ries.
c Ensure that the power tool is
well supported before using.
This power tool generates high
torque. If the power tool is not
firmly supported when it is used,
this may lead to a loss of control
and to injuries.
d Hold the power tool by the insu
lated handle surfaces when car
rying out tasks during which it is
possible that the tool will come
across hidden power cables
or its own connecting cable.
Contact with a live cable may also
cause metal tool parts to become
live with the risk of an electric
shock.
2) Safety precautions when using
long drills
a Never work with a speed higher
than the maximum permitted
speed for the drill. When using
with higher speeds, the drill may
bend easily if it is able to rotate
freely without contact with the
workpiece, and result in injuries.
