Make sure that the power pack is sufficiently charged,
with at least 3 charging bars in the charging status display
(Position 13 in the overview).
Read the operating instructions for your
vehicle!
For some vehicles, it is possible that special
precautions must be implemented before
using a starting aid with the vehicle (e.g.
fuses that must be removed, or certain
safety precautions that must be taken). With
some vehicle types, the battery is located in
the boot, in this instance you will often find
starting aid connections under the bonnet.
Remove any rust or oxidation or dirt from the pole callipers
and battery poles.

6.3.2 CONNECTING THE POWER PACK

(VEHICLES WITH NEGATIVE EARTH)

Switch off the ignition and all electrical consumers of the
vehicle (radio, lights, rear window heating, seat heating
etc.). Apply the parking brake. First connect the red (+) pole
callipers (Position 8 in the overview) to the plus pole of your
vehicle battery. The black (-) pole callipers (Position 7 in the
overview) is connected, as far as possible from the battery,
to the motor block or chassis (not to a painted part). Pay
attention to see whether the CAUTION - symbol (Position 11
in the overview) lights up. If no error is shown, now press
the START button (Position 1 in the overview) (required for
every start process) and wait until the device signals it is
READY (Position 14 in the overview).

6.3.3 ATTEMPTING TO START

Start the motor. Do not operate the starter for longer than
6 seconds. The battery of the power pack is not designed
for longer starting attempts. Pause for at least 5 minutes
between two starting attempts. If the motor does not start
after a number of attempts, abort the process and investi-
gate the cause of the defect.

6.3.4 EXPERT MODE

Only to be used with additional care, and
by specialists!
If the vehicle battery has been completely discharged (vol-
tage under 3V), the device is unable to recognise the battery
and will not start the vehicle. Pressing the START button for
5 seconds (wait out the countdown) and then pressing the
START button, the EXPERT MODE may be activated for this
instance: The device will now act as a lithium ion battery
and will have 12 V and a max. of 300 A at the terminals (for
starting aid)
CAUTION:
The short-circuiting protection and
automatic deactivation on separation
of the connection will be deactivated
by this mode!
Press the START button again to exit expert mode. The
ready symbol will go out. After approximately 30 seconds the
device will automatically power itself off.

6.3.5 REMOVING THE POWER PACK

First disconnect the black (-) pole callipers and secure the
pole callipers to the intended mount on the underside of the
device. Then disconnect the red (+) pole callipers and secure
the pole callipers to the intended mount. Always maintain
this sequence. The device will switch itself off approximately
30 seconds after you have disconnected the charging cable
from the battery. Recharge the power pack.
Caution: Do not leave the device unattended when
charging! Use a fire-resistance surface, do not allow
flammable materials within a distance of 1m.

6.4 USING AS A 12 V VOLTAGE SUPPLY

The power pack may be used as a source of 12 V direct
current for buffering the on-board computer data during a
battery change.
This function may only be used with
vehicles in which the 12 V on-board socket
is not switched via the ignition. To do this,
read the manual of your vehicle or ask your
specialist workshop.
First, clear access to the car battery, e. g. open the
bonnet, or similar. In order to use the power pack as a buffer
battery, switch all (!) electric consumers (radio, lights, heating,
interior lighting etc.) off. Switch off the motor and
turn off the ignition. Remove the ignition key. Plug the
coaxial connector of the vehicle charging cable into the 12 V
output socket (Position 7 in the overview) of the power
pack. The 12 V vehicle plug is plugged into the on-board
socket of your vehicle. Press the START button. Now you can
change the battery. Once you have installed the new battery
in your vehicle and connected it, disconnect the power pack
from the on-board socket by first disconnecting the plug
from the on-board socket and then the coaxial connector
from the 12 V output.
The device will switch itself off approximately 30 seconds
after you have disconnected the charging cable from the
power pack.

6.5 USING AS A USB CHARGER

Thanks to the USB connection, the power pack may also
be used as a charger for mobile telephones, smartphones,
tablets, MP3 players and similar devices. In order to charge a
USB device, first connect with the associated charging cable
(not included in the scope of delivery). Plug the USB connec-
tor of the charging cable into the USB outlet (Positions 5 in
the overview). Start the charging process by pressing the
START button.
After completely the charging process, disconnect the USB
connector from the power pack.
