Hydrogen gases from the battery are explosive. Keep
battery away from flame and sparks.
Charge battery in well ventilated area.
(2) Pumping plate
When the fire pump is used for salvage applications, such as pumping out a
cellar, pumping plate must be installed to avoid engine overheat caused by
lack of cooling water.
Install the pumping plate between the discharge port adaptor and the pack-
ing as shown in the figure below. With the pumping plate in place, the pump
can be operated without a discharge nozzle, so that pressure in pump is
maintained at certain level.
