(7) Cowl removal and installation
Cowl shall be removed when replacing battery or cleaning strainer of
vacuum pump.
1) Front cowl removal
a) Unlock the knob at 2 locations; Turn to left
one quarter turn.
b) Remove the cowl slowly, with care given to the
area which would be contacted with the
vacuum pump tension handle.
2) Rear cowl removal
a) Detach the spark plug cap at 2 locations and
open the cowl with the pins for supporting
point.
b) Pass the spark plug caps through the holes
for the leads.
(Except VC85BS, VC82ASE)
c) Remove the cowl from the pins.
NOTE:
Remove the front cowl first, and the rear cowl
second.
3) Cowl installation
Assemble in reverse order of removal.
• The hook (at 2 locations each cowl) must be
aligned to the socket of the grommet before in-
sert firmly.
NOTE:
Assemble the rear cowl first, and the front cowl
second.
