Compressed air filter series GL Plus
Installation
Prerequisites
Installation details depend on the local situ-
ation. Therefore, heed the following general
hints:
Check the filter for damage. Do not install
▌
or commission damaged filters.
Depressurise the pipe before installation.
▌
Make sure that the top and bottom of the
▌
filter are fully closed. The marks on the top
and bottom of the filter must be aligned
(Fig. 8).
Fit filter in a vertical position only.
▌
Heed the flow direction: The threaded
▌
connection at the pressure inlet side of the
filter top is marked with a web
(Figure 1).
Heed the dead weight of the filter and in-
▌
stall a support device if necessary. Design
the support device so it can bear a filter
completely filled with liquid.
Make sure there is a direct connection to a
▌
safety device preventing maximum permis-
sible limits (pressure and temperature) are
exceeded.
Always install the filter at the point of the
▌
pipe system where the temperature is
lowest.
Provide sufficient space below the filter for
▌
filter replacement (Table on page 2, value D).

Operating Instructions | EN
Filter installation
The filter comes ready for operation, except
option OA. When options were ordered, you
must first mount these to the filter in line
with the respective documentation.
- Depressurise the pipe section.
- Attach the support device if required
(Figure 2). Use the appropriate BF wall
mount for this purpose (see the accesso-
ries table, page 25).
- Combine several filters if necessary
(Figure 4). Use the BFS mounting kit for
filter combinations without wall mount
(see the accessories table, page 25).
- Align the filter: the web at the threaded
connection indicates the pressure inlet
side (Figure 1).
- Integrate the filter into the pipe. Make sure
there are no leaks and the filter is exactly
vertical.
- Pressurise the pipe section again and
check the filter for tightness and correct
function.
Operation
Avoid abrupt pressure rises or drops during
filter operation. The filter can be damaged if
the pressure rises or drops too fast.
