Maintenance
Hazard due to a sudden release
of pressure!
On completion of all maintenance
work, make sure that the filter
housing is fully closed.
A burst filter can cause serious
injuries!
Always heed the prescribed service inter-
vals. Proper operation of the filter cannot be
warranted in case of non-compliance.
Weekly
Check the float drain for tightness and pro-
per functioning once a week.
A permanent flow noise must not be heard.
Otherwise you must replace the float drain.
Yearly
Element types XLP, ZLP must be replaced
once a year.
Check the float drain for contamination du-
ring this procedure and clean it if necessary.
If required
The maximum exchange interval of activated
charcoal element AP is 650 operating hours.
The following factors can require a prematu-
re exchange:
high temperatures,
high oil mist concentration,
high relative humidity.
This means you must perform regular
measurements to determine the optimum
exchange interval.

Replacing the filter element
Hazard due to a sudden release
of pressure!
Depressurise the filter before carrying
out any work on the filter! A sudden
escape of pressure may cause seri-
ous injuries.
- Block compressed air supply to the filter.
- Depressurise the filter. To do so, you may
have to open the condensate drain at the
filter bottom.
- Give the lower housing a full turn in clock-
wise direction and take it off downwards
(Figure 5).
- Take out the filter element and dispose of
it according to the operating instructions.
- Replace seal (Figure 6).
- Insert the new filter element: The lugs fit
the recesses in the lower housing exactly
and ensure the correct seat of the filter
element (Figure 7).
- Apply a thin coat of grease on the thread
of the lower housing.
- Using the marks, vertically align the lower
section with the upper section of the
housing and fully close off with one com-
plete turn (Fig. 8).
- If necessary, close the condensate drain
and open the pipe to the filter.
- Check the filter for tightness.
