Symptom
Liquid flow too low, or instrument tends
to accumulate heat

The pump does not work
The hand piece does not remain on the
magnetic support
The hand piece cap does not remain

Solution
•
The pump does not function, see below
•
Remove the pump and check that drive shaft rotates smoothly when activated
•
Check that the silicon tubing is correctly placed in the pump
•
Check that the sterile line is the one recommended by EMS for this unit
•
Check that the sterile line is not damaged or obstructed
•
Check flow adjustment, increase flow to maximum
•
Check that the instrument orifice is not partially clogged up
•
Send the unit to your authorized EMS Service Center
•
Check flow adjustment and decrease it
•
Check that pump is correctly positioned on support
•
Check that the hand piece is correctly connected to the unit
•
Remove the pump and check if the drive shaft rotates
•
Check that the foot pedal is properly connected to unit
•
Activate the pump with the backup switch on back panel
•
Replace the foot pedal
•
Send the unit to your authorized EMS Service Center
•
Check the seal at the support base
•
Install the magnetic support on a metallic part of the unit
•
The support is demagnetized
•
Replace magnetic support
•
Check for presence of the O-ring seal and replace if necessary
•
Check the thread on handpiece
•
Replace the handpiece
