INTENDED USE
Incorrect use of flipper valve type 6144 can be dangerous to
people, nearby equipment and the environment.
• The flipper valve is used solely for the control of gaseous or
fluid media that are permissible as per "Technical data".It was
designed for the use in explosion group IIC, category 2G and
temperature class T4, T5 or T6 (see information listed on the
- certification plate).
• The flipper valve is designed for the use in roof-covered areas.
Do not use the valve in outside areas.
When using the valve, observe the permissible data as well as the
operating conditions and conditions of use, which are specified
– i n the operating instructions for the flipper valve 6144, on the
rating plate in the contract documents
– a s well as in the operating instructions for the valve terminal on
which the valve is used.
The flipper valve may be used only in conjunction with third-party
devices and components recommended and authorised by Bürkert.
Correct transportation, correct storage and installation, and
careful operation and maintenance are essential for reliable and
problem-free operation.
Using the machine/plant for purposes others than those men-
tioned above is considered contrary to its designated use.
Bürkert does not assume the liability for resulting damages.
The risk rests exclusively with the user.
• Use the device only as intended.
Temperature classes and electrical data are specified on the
rating plate and in the "Technical data" of this manual.
2.1. Restrictions
If exporting the system/device, observe any existing restrictions.
2.1.1.
EX approval
The EX approval is only valid if you use the modules and compo-
nents authorised by Bürkets in such a way as described in this oper-
ating manual.
The flipper valve may only be used in combination with additional
components that have been approved by Bürkert. Otherwise, the Ex
approval will expire!
If you make any unauthorised changes to the device, the modules or
the components, the Ex approval will also expire.
The type-examination certificate PTB 07 ATEX 2048 has be issued
by the PTB (Physikalisch Technische Bundesanstalt,
Bundesallee 100, 8116 Braunschweig)
The institute also audits the manufacture (CE0102).
2.2. Foreseeable misuse
• Do not put any loads on the housing (e.g. by placing objects on it
or standing on it).
• Do not make any external modifications to the unit's housing. Do not
paint the housing parts or screws.
• The flipper valve is not designed for outdoor usage and must not be
exposed to UV light.
