4. Place the round file [size 3/8" (9.52 mm) (not provided)] in a file receptacle and align it over the tooth at an angle
of 35° (Ú Fig. 24).
5. Before sharpening, mark the first tooth with a white marker, in order to identify where to finish sharpening of other
teeth.
6. File with forward strokes only - lift the file off the cutter on the backstroke. Perform 5 passed and move to another
tooth. The tooth edges should shine up as the file removes build-up and oxidation.

7. If the tooth becomes as high as the cutter, lower the cutter with a flat file (not provided). The cutter should be 1 mm
lower than the tooth.

8. Clean the saw chain from any chippings with a soft brush.
9. To protect the saw chain from rust and oxidation, lubricate it with a special saw chain oil (not provided).
