This product was shipped with a low-kickback saw chain and a reduced kickback guide bar. Both items reduce the
chance of a kickback. However, a kickback can still occur with this saw.
The front hand guard can reduce injuries from kickback. Do not remove the front hand guard. Do not
replace the front hand guard with any non-authorised replacement parts.
Never use the front hand guard to switch the product on/off. It is exclusively designed as a safety
mechanism.

9. Operation

a) To do/check before each use
• Wear safety glasses and hearing protection. Further protective equipment for head, hands, legs and feet is
recommended. Adequate protective clothing will reduce personal injury by flying debris or accidental contact with
the saw chain.
• Do not use any attachments or accessories not recommended by the manufacturer. It may result in serious personal
injury.
• Check the oil level in the oil reservoir (Ú Lubricating).
• Check if the saw chain is tensioned correctly (Ú Tensioning the saw chain).
• Check if the saw chain is sharp (Ú Sharpening the saw chain).
b) Safety behaviour/position
• Always keep proper footing and operate the chain saw only when standing on fixed, secure and level surface.
• Always hold the chain saw with your right hand on the rear handle and your left hand on the front handle. Hold the
handle firmly with thumb and all fingers.
• Never operate chain saw using only one hand.
• Position your body to the left of the product so if the kickback occurs, it goes over your right shoulder.
