Installation of the electrical system

Installation of the electrical system

!
Disconnect the 12 V and 230 V supply from the battery and the mains.
Working on the electrical installation without first disconnecting the electrical power supply
represents a risk of fatal injury!
Never swap over the connection for the positive (+) and negative (-) supply voltage!
Make sure the cables are firmly attached! Use the chassis terminals [13] for this.
Keep the cables for the left and right drive unit with the same length.
Avoid loops.
Check that all cables are clean, secure and routed without chafing points, and are securely attached.
Installation of base control unit A3
First, identify a suitable installation location, e.g. seat or
bed box, for the base control unit [03]. If possible, this
should be close to the battery and protected against water.
It is best for installation to be on the floor or the wall.
Now secure the base station with two bolts M3x20 [17] in a
suitable location. In order to connect the cables, drill a 25
mm diameter hole in the floor of the trailer at a distance of
at least 150 mm from the base control unit. In the Tandem
T4 model, it is necessary to drill one hole for each of the
two base control units (i.e. two holes in total).
When doing this, make sure that there are no components
or other weight-bearing parts located in the vicinity of the
holes in or under the floor. Before routing the wiring
harness, insert the cable grommet [11] in the Classic
chassis. Then guide the cables (right cable harness [04] and
left cable harness [05]) through the holes.
Drive motor connections
Two different cable thicknesses are installed in the cable
harnesses [04] and [05]. The thick cables are for carrying the
drive energy. The thin cables 1.5mm² are intended for
carrying the power supply to the motor drives (swivelling
motors). The connection of the cables to the drive units [01]
and [02] is shown in the connection diagram. (Fig. 5)
Route the blue wiring harness [04] to the right drive unit [01]
(as seen in the driving direction), route the grey wiring
harness [05] to the left drive unit [02] (as seen in the driving
direction), and connect them as shown in the connection
diagram. (Fig. 5)
There is another base control unit in Tandem trailers and
iMC T4 (with 4 drive units).
The wiring harnesses [04] and [05] for this unit are
additionally marked in yellow.
