Safety instructions
You must read these instructions carefully before
installing and operating the system. Keep the instructions
to hand in your vehicle.
The installer is responsible for correct and proper
installation. Preferably, the installation should be
performed by a trained specialist workshop. Installation is
possible in front of or behind the axle. No parts of the
chassis, the axle suspension or the braking system are
allowed to be removed, modified or impaired under any
circumstances. Correct operation is only possible given
correct installation, correct tyre pressure and the correct
distance between the drive rollers and the tyres.
BPW Fahrzeugtechnik GmbH & Co. KG does not accept any
liability for damage caused by installing or operating the
iMC on a caravan or trailer, no matter what kind.
In the event of damage attributable to a defect in the device
resulting from a production fault, we will exclusively refund
up to the maximum purchase costs of the iMC, assuming
the incident occurs during the warranty period.
We reserve the right to modify the iMC manoeuvring drive
at any time, without prior notice.
The iMC is intended to be used as a manoeuvring aid for
caravans and other trailers, and to be operated on
campsites and private land.
Sale to and within the USA and Canada, as well as taking the
system into operation there, are all prohibited.
All rights reserved by BPW Fahrzeugtechnik GmbH & Co.
KG. These installation and operating instructions, as well as
their content, are not allowed to be duplicated, stored or
published either electronically or mechanically by printing,
photocopying, microfilming or any other technology
without the prior written permission of BPW Fahrzeugtech-
nik GmbH & Co. KG.
The electricity supply must be switched off at the master
switch during all installation, maintenance and assembly
work. The master switch must be secured to prevent it from
being switched back on, and the battery must be
disconnected (negative terminal first).
Working on live components represents a danger of fatal
injury. Batteries must be handled, stored and disposed of in
accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. Used
batteries must be disposed of via the recycling process.
Corrosion hazard: battery acid is highly corrosive. Keep
children away from acid and batteries. Make sure the
battery is securely seated. Follow the instructions on the
battery, and check it regularly. Be very careful when
replacing or charging batteries.
Never exceed the technical data of the caravan (see the last
page of the operating instructions), such as gradeability and
total weight. Continuous operation under full load is not
allowed to exceed one minute.
Failure to comply with this requirement can entail serious
consequences.
Please note:
» Remove pointed stones from the tyres before using the
iMC.
» Before starting manoeuvring with the iMC, release the
parking brake on the caravan/trailer and re-apply the
parking brake having completed manoeuvring; then
swivel the drive rollers away (the manoeuvring drive is not
an alternative for the parking brake).
» No-one is allowed to remain in the caravan/trailer or in its
manoeuvring area during operation of the iMC (this
applies to children in particular).
» Do not get close to the drive rollers when operating the
iMC.
» Bear in mind the range of the remote control.
» All tyres on the caravan must be of the same type.
» When manoeuvring on gradients, point the drawbar
downwards if possible.
