KICKBACK PRECAUTIONS
Kickback is a sudden reaction when a cutter snags or is caught on the material.
If kickback occurs:
The cutter may contact a body part, causing a serious injury.
The router table may wrench the user' s arm causing muscle or joint injuries.
The material can be ejected and inflict a serious injury on the user or a
bystander.
Kickback can also damage the tool or workpiece.
Kickback can be avoided by taking proper precautions:
1.
Maintain a firm grip on the material and position your body and arms to
allow you to resist a kickback. Kickback can propel the material in the
rotation direction of the router table' cutterhead.
2.
Only use a cutter designed for the tool.
3.
Always make sure the work surface is free from debris or other foreign objects.
Striking debris can cause the router table to jump and damage the cutter.
4.
Maintain the router cutter's cutting edge. A dull edge is more likely to slip
from the workpiece.
5.
Feed the workpiece against the knife's direction of rotation.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
WARNING! Do not touch or handle a live tool with any part of your body that is
wet or damp. Wet skin reduces resistance to electrical current, increasing the
danger of a serious or fatal shock.
WARNING! To reduce risk of electric shock, be certain that the plug is connected
to a properly grounded receptacle.
1.
Do not alter any parts of the tool or accessories. All parts and accessories are
designed with built-in safety features that may be compromised if altered.
2.
Protect yourself against electric shocks when working on electrical
equipment. Avoid body contact with grounded surfaces. There is an
increased chance of electrical shock if your body is grounded.
3.
Do not expose the router table to rain, snow, frost or any other damp or wet
conditions. Water entering a tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
4.
Do not disconnect the power cord in place of using the safety switch. This
will prevent an accidental start-up when the power cord is plugged into
the power supply.
